Our Dental Implant Process
Restore Your Smile in Three Steps
Do you want a natural-looking, permanent solution for missing teeth? If so, dental implants are likely the best treatment for you. Though many patients assume the procedure is highly complicated, it’s actually simpler than you might think. We also feature convenient options to speed up the procedure for patients who are short on time.
Your Initial Consultation
During your first visit, Dr. Cooper will thoroughly evaluate your oral health to determine if you’re an immediate candidate for dental implants. If you suffer from jawbone deterioration or gum recession, you’ll likely need to undergo a supplemental procedure to prepare your mouth for implants.
This visit also offers you an opportunity to learn everything you want to know about the procedure and ask any questions you might have.
Once Dr. Cooper determines you’re ready, he’ll place the titanium implant fixture in your jaw and protect your surgical area with a temporary crown. At this point, you’ll need to allow three to six months for your mouth to heal before returning to our office.
This recovery period also allows time for your implant to integrate with your jawbone in a process known as osseointegration. This is what allows your implant to function like a natural tooth and it’s critical to the success of your treatment.
Once osseointegration is complete, Dr. Cooper will attach a small connecting piece called an abutment and complete the restoration with your new prosthetic tooth. We feature a range of implant solutions to restore any number of missing teeth, including crowns, bridges, and dentures.
Restore a Full Arch of Teeth in One Visit
If you’re missing an entire arch of teeth, we feature two convenient options to provide you with a new smile in just one appointment.
Teeth in One Day, similar to All-on-4®, uses just four dental implants to secure a complete denture. We place the implants in specific locations to maximize your healthy bone tissue and eliminate the need for bone grafting.
TeethXpress® also involves anchoring a complete denture with dental implants, but we can use up to six implants with this method. The additional implants increase the stability of your restoration, but you need a dense, healthy jawbone to be eligible for TeethXpress.
